Geiger ZP Zwetschge im Portweinstil
ZP - Plum in Port Style is a delicious concept developed by the Jrg Geiger Manufaktur in the peaceful village of Schlat in Baden Wrttemberg. Jrg Geiger and his team work diligently to preserve old fruit varieties. They have used the Hauszwetschge variety for this particular ZP - Plum in Port Style, which may not be widely known. In Swabian, Zwetsche translates to Plum. This product has an alcohol content of 18% ABV, making it an ideal aperitif. It spends more than 18 months in Cognac barrels from a renowned Cognac house, under optimal conditions. The intensity of this ZP Plum can be detected from the first whiff, with a delicate aroma of ripe plums and a subtle hint of dried fruit. The long maturation in the finest Cognac barrels also adds light notes of fresh vanilla. On the palate, it has a harmonious taste profile, dominated by plum flavors and a subtle touch of dried fruits. A hint of ripe blackberries, perfectly balanced with the plum notes, can also be perceived. The finish is pleasantly long, warm, and slightly smooth. The entire range of these exceptional products, including AP-Apple and BP-Pear in Port Style, alongside the ZP-Plum described here, is truly remarkable. The production method of this noble beverage is similar to that of Port wine. It is an excellent aperitif option that provides immense enjoyment when consumed neat. However, customers have also reported using the ZP Plum in desserts. In any case, the Geiger Manufaktur has successfully created an exceptional product line with this range.
