Lantenhammer Williamsbirnenbrand
Lantenhammer produces a special type of noble distillate known as Williams Pear Brandy, which is made using Williams pears primarily grown in South Tyrol, specifically in the Bozen Basin and Vinschgau. The distillery utilizes older trees that bear precious and aromatic fruits, carefully hand-picking and transporting them. The end result is a pear brandy with a pure and intense aroma, perfect as a digestif. This light fruit brandy pairs well with fish and light meats. Upon opening the bottle, one is greeted with fresh fruity flavors and a delightful scent that leaves you wanting more. The Williams pear is double distilled and undergoes a slow distillation process. The finest part of the distillation then ages for up to three years in stone casks, allowing it to develop its characteristic aroma. Only after this maturation period does it get adjusted to drinking strength with fresh spring water and get bottled. The brandy's natural cloudiness, a result of essential oils and water, is a unique trademark that can vary from year to year depending on the fruit quality. The Lantenhammer distillery, originally a gentian distillery established in 1928, has remained family-owned and operated with a strong reputation for producing top-quality spirits. The Williams Pear Brandy has a transparent appearance, sometimes with a slight cloudiness. It boasts a captivating fruity aroma dominated by the scent of Williams pear. When tasting, one experiences the pure flavor of Williams pear without any added flavors. The brandy leaves a strong, long-lasting aftertaste of intensely fruity pear.
