Maraska Slivovitz

Maraska Slivovitz is a pure and natural brandy made from the finest ripe blue plums grown in the rich soil of the Adriatic Hinterland, one of the largest plum-growing areas globally. The plums undergo a special fermentation process for three months in large tanks, followed by double distillation and a minimum two-year maturation in oak casks. Slivovitz, also known as Croatian plum brandy, has been a well-known spirit since the Middle Ages, traditionally being double-distilled. Kosher Slivovitz adheres to strict kosher guidelines, making it suitable for Passover. The unique taste and rich aroma of this fruit brandy are achieved through a special fermentation and distillation procedure. Despite being known for its character rather than finesse, this slivovitz offers delicate fragrances of white flowers, lavender, blueberries, and grape juice that dance in the glass. The initial sip may feel hot, but it quickly gives way to the floral and fruit aromatics detected earlier. Aging in barrels adds a hint of butter that reduces the sharpness. The finish is long-lasting, pleasantly warm, with lingering delicate fruit and floral flavors.
