Raunikar Alte Marille

Raunikar Alte Marille is a type of apricot schnapps made by the Austrian brand Raunikar. Unlike most apricot schnapps, which are produced in the Wachau region near Vienna, Raunikar Alte Marille is made in Lustenau, on the border with Switzerland. Apricots are a well-loved ingredient in Austrian cuisine, used in dishes like jams, marmalades, Sachertorte, and Marillenkndeln. However, a significant amount of the harvest is used to make apricot schnapps, including Raunikar Alte Marille. Apricots are also known as marille in certain regions like Upper and Lower Bavaria, Upper Palatinate, Austria, and South Tyrol. Raunikar Alte Marille stands out for its subtle sweetness and woody flavors from barrel aging. It has a smooth and fruity finish and provides a comforting and familiar taste. The traditional bottle design evokes images of cozy evenings in a traditional pub.
