Schladerer Kirschwasser
Our native sweet cherries are sourced from prime locations in the Black Forest and are cultivated in traditional varieties such as Dollenseppler, Schwarze Schttler, and Benjaminler. The flavor profile of this cherry brandy is characterized by a soft and delicate entry, leading to a light-to-medium body. It is a classic and distinctive representation of the Black Forest distilling tradition, offering a highly aromatic bouquet of cherries with subtle hints of almonds. When tasted, it possesses a powerful presence in the mouth, followed by a harmonious and mild finish. Only cherry brandies produced from cherries grown in the Black Forest are legally allowed to be called Schwarzwlder Kirschwasser. One such fruit brandy is Schladerer Kirschwasser, made exclusively from authentic Black Forest cherries. The black cherries sourced from the southern region of Germany have been particularly successful in this process. Schladerer has been producing this kirsch, a brandy made from sweet pome fruits, since 1844. The production of the high-quality Schladerer Kirschwasser undergoes rigorous quality checks, ensuring that the fermentation and distillation processes meet the highest standards. The cherry mash is first poured into copper kettles and distilled twice before being bottled in its iconic square-shaped container. The resulting color of the brandy is exceptionally clear and pure. While it makes a delicious digestif after a lavish meal, it can also be enjoyed at any time.
