The popular German brandy, Asbach, gained international recognition after soldiers returning from World War II developed a taste for it. The brandy is aged in small French Limousin casks, and its founder, Hugo Asbach, learned distilling techniques from Cognac houses before creating his own brandy. Asbach uses wine from various European sources and distills it in copper pot stills. This bright and fruity brandy offers hints of apples, grapes, flowers, toffee, vanilla, coconut, oak, red berries, and apricot.
