Château De Laubade 1964 Armagnac
Description
Chateau de Laubade, established in 1870, is now the top Armagnac property with 260 acres of vineyards. It is situated in Sorbets d'Armagnac, in the Bas Armagnac region which is considered the finest area of the appellation. The Lesgourgues family has been managing the estate since 1974, with Arnaud and Denis Lesgourgues, the third generation, taking an active role since 1998. Their goal is to make Chateau de Laubade a renowned name in the Armagnac category. The vintage Armagnac is made from grapes harvested in the same year and is known for its complexity and richness. The aroma of the Armagnac reveals notes of cotton candy, gum, dried tropical fruit, chocolate bar, nougat, and oil. The taste starts with intense cocoa-like and bittersweet flavors, but later becomes overly sweet. The finish is long, concentrated, and too sweet.
