Château De Laubade XO Bas Armagnac
Description
Château de Laubade, established in 1870, is located in Gascony, France, and has been owned by the Lesgourgues family since 1974. The vineyards cover 105 hectares in the Bas Armagnac region, known for its high-quality spirits. Organic methods are used to cultivate Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, and Folle Blanche grapes, which are then vinified and distilled at the Château. The aging process lasts from 15 to 25 years, resulting in a rich and comforting aroma of caramel. The initial taste is sweet, with notes of sarsaparilla, cocoa, and vanilla, but it develops into flavors of cigar wrapper and chamomile. The finish is characterized by hints of nutmeg, cardamom, and cayenne spice. The average age of the blend is 18 years, and it is aged in Gascony black oak barrels.
