Château du Breuil Calvados XO Réserve des Seigneurs
Description
The Château du Breuil, which was constructed in the 16th and 17th centuries, is located in the middle of Normandy. Throughout its history, it has been occupied by noble families such as the Bouquetot, Montgomery, young Tancrède de Rohan, and Bence families. Philippe Bizouard, whose family has a long tradition of distilling Calvados, founded the Château du Breuil company in 1954. Today, the distillery is renowned as one of France's top Calvados producers, exporting its Calvados Pays d'Auge (AOC) certified brandies to over 50 countries. The majority of the apples used in production come from the meticulously cultivated and organically managed 42-hectare orchards at Château du Breuil. The brandy undergoes a double distillation process in copper stills, followed by aging in French oak barrels and expert blending before being bottled. The attention to detail results in the prestigious Château du Breuil-Calvados receiving numerous awards and accolades each year. "XO Réserve des Seigneurs" is a blend of high-quality Calvados varieties aged for at least 16 years. Its aroma is characterized by hints of vanilla and orange peel, while the taste offers fruity flavors of apple, citrus fruits, berries, and a touch of spicy oak. The finish is long and fruit-forward.
