Château Du Busca XO No. 1 Ténarèze Armagnac
Description
Busca X.O. is a perfectly balanced armagnac with a rich orange-golden color. It has a lovely aroma of candied orange and vanilla, and the palate offers a smooth and mellow woodiness. This armagnac is produced at the Château du Busca-Maniban, the oldest distillery in Gascony, using traditional methods. It is aged in oak barrels in the castle cellars. The Ténarèze region, where the armagnac is made, has a similar soil composition to the top growing regions of Cognac, resulting in a longer and, in my opinion, superior aging process. This armagnac has subtle floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle, as well as dried yellow fruit, almonds, and orange blossom. The taste is lusciously oily, semisweet, and buttery, with hints of oak, cocoa, black tea, and walnut paste. The finish is graceful, semisweet, and well-structured.
