Description

Garvey offers the Conde de Garvey Brandy Solera Gran Reserva, which is known as the most expensive brandy in the world. This brandy is made from five casks that have always been specially reserved for family use in the winery. The Conde de Garvey Brandy Solera Gran Reserva is a very old brandy that has aged for over 200 solera years, with an additional 60 years of aging in the cask. The founder of the winery, William Garvey Power, started off in the merino sheep business in County Waterford, Ireland. During his travels to Spain to crossbreed his sheep, his ship sank in the Bay of Cadiz. He was saved by a Spanish Navy captain named Rafael Gomez, who took him to his home in Puerto Real to recover. It was there that William Garvey fell in love with Sebastiana Gomez Jimenez, the captain's daughter. Captivated by Sebastiana and the pleasant climate, William decided to stay in the south of Spain. He married Sebastiana and began a new career in the wine trade, despite having no previous experience in it. He brought back the padlocks and chains used to transport his sheep from the sunken ship and used them to lock up the brandy that he personally selected for himself. This brandy became known as Conde de Garvey in honor of his wife. William Garvey would personally lock these casks every night, and this tradition was continued by his descendants. The Solera Gran Reserva Brandy offers the complexity that can only come with age. Its mahogany color comes from the old American oak laths used during the aging process. It has a distinct aroma of herbs, leather, tobacco, and cocoa, all expertly blended together to create a harmonious taste experience. With every sip of Conde de Garvey, one is not only enjoying the brandy itself but also experiencing a taste of Garvey's history and the history of Brandy de Jerez. This exceptional brandy is presented in a handmade wooden box adorned with gold engravings and an exclusive lock. The elegant bohemian glass bottle is blown in a traditional manner and engraved in silver. It features a silver neck and a glass stopper made from oak and cork.
