De Luze was founded in the 19th century in New York by brothers Alfred and Philippe De Luze. They later separated, with one brother staying in New York and the other starting an import/export business in Cognac, France. This partnership was very successful and they expanded their exports by acquiring other vineyards. De Luze was acquired by Domaine Boinaud in 2006. The De Luze Alfred cognac, named after founder Alfred De Luze, is made from blends of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne eau-de-vie aged up to 15 years. It is presented in a distinctive silver bottle. The color is a warm yellow-amber with copper tones, and it has a sweet scent with hints of cooked prunes and candied apricots. The taste is well-rounded with a silky texture, and it lingers in the mouth for 7-10 minutes.
