Description

This blend is made from eaux-de-vie from the top growing regions of Cognac, Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, with over half of the blend coming from the Premier Cru. The elements of De Luze VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac have been aged for up to 12 years, with the oldest spirits sourced from the Boinaud Estate harvest of 1989. Distilled on the lees at the family estate, this Cognac has also been matured in French Limousin Oak barrels made in De Luze's own cooperage, making it a spectacular representation of this estate. The House of De Luze was established internationally in the 19th century. In 1817, Alfred and Louis-Philippe De Luze went to New York to build business relations and set up a shop. They realized that having one of them in the Cognac region would be more productive for trade and exports. Alfred returned to Bordeaux and founded Maison De Luze & Fils with his sons, dealing in Bordeaux wine and Cognac, which could then be distributed through his brother's agency in New York. Over the next four decades, they expanded trade and established a strong European buyer network. In 2006, the Boinaud family, one of the oldest and most respected Cognac producers, purchased the brand. With their estate and the biggest private distillery in Cognac, the new owners are sure to bring De Luze to greater heights. Eye: Deep bronze. Nose: Dried apricot, pear, candied fruit, and rose petals with fresh green grapes, caramel, light cinnamon, and spearmint. Palate: Rich and wonderfully fruity, still full of apricots and orchard fruits. Spicy oak, ginger biscuits, and warm spices continue through the long finish. VSOP VSOP, meaning 4 years minimum maturation for the youngest distillate in the blend, suggests the meticulous precision with which the work was carried out, although the overall average age of the spirit is usually higher. Very Special Old Pale, for the Cognac de Luze VSOP, is more than just an indication of age, but also highlights the brand's high quality standards. Tradition of “Savoir-Faire” or know-how plays a significant role in the Cognac de Luze VSOP. Cognac can only be called cognac if it is produced near Cognac, France, and strict control is carried out over the entire process, including the distillation of unfiltered wine and subsequent maturation process. For the Cognac de Luze VSOP, grapes are selected from Petite and Grande Champagne regions. These regulations and high-quality assurance result in a product like this. The golden to honey-colored Cognac de Luze VSOP has notes of summer roses to violets on the nose, accompanied by velvet honey. In the mouth, there are complex ripe tones such as vanilla, dried fruits, and integrated wood. The finish is long and warm. The well-balanced Cognac de Luze VSOP is a must-have in any bar for evenings with friends, pairing with cigars, or simply enjoying on its own. This cognac belongs in any well-stocked bar.
