De Montal VS Armagnac
Description
De Montal Armagnacs are produced in the sunny vineyards of Gascony, France, a region known for its excellent cuisine and famed for its foie gras. The De Montal family carefully selects and blends the finest eaux-de-vie to create a noble and rare spirit. They believe in hand-crafting their armagnac using traditional methods that have been in practice for over 275 years. The mild and humid climate, along with sunny autumns, contribute to the subtle flavors and aromas of Armagnac de Montal. The grape varieties used include Folle Blanche, Ugni-Blanc, Bacco, and Colombard. The wine is distilled immediately after harvesting to preserve maximum aroma. Armagnac de Montal utilizes a copper still that allows vapors to rise, and aging takes place in white oak barrels over an unusually long period of time. This aging process gives Armagnac De Montal its distinctive aroma of prune, ripe banana, peach, and dates, with hints of fresh fruit and flowers. On the palate, it offers a floral aroma, as well as flavors of prunes, tobacco, and spice. It starts off sweet and smoky, transitioning to notes of sugar and wood.
