Domecq 1820 Solera Reserva De Jerez Brandy
Description
Domecq 1820 is a Solera Reserva brandy that carries the tradition and heritage of the Domecq family name. The Domecq family used advanced techniques and the finest stills from around the world to produce their wines. Nowadays, Domecq 1820 is produced in Malaga, Spain, using the solera system, which involves infusing aged brandy with younger ones for consistent quality. The brandy is aged in oak barrels for two years. Domecq is made using the Criaderas and Soleras system, a traditional Spanish method used for sherry and brandy production. This process gives Domecq its unique sensory qualities that are characteristic of the region. By combining innovative technology with traditional production methods, Domecq achieves an extraordinary quality brandy with a well-balanced flavor and aroma. The brandy is aged in 500 liter American oak casks known as botas, which have been soaked in Pedro Ximénez Malaga dessert wine or sun-dried Muscatel for 2 to 3 years. This imparts the wood with the flavors and characteristics of the wine, enhancing the flavor, sweetness, and complexity of the brandy. The aroma of Domecq includes vanilla, saddle leather, raisins, toasted and hazelnuts, and light spiced toasty oak. On the palate, it is full-flavored yet smooth, with notes of toasted oak, orange zest, dry nuts, nutmeg, and cinnamon spice, balanced by toffee, caramel, plum raisin fruit, and sweet vanilla.
