Germain Robin Muscat Single Barrel
Description
Germain-Robin, a prestigious brandy producer in Mendocino County, has been a leader in the craft spirits movement for over 30 years. Hubert Germain-Robin, who came from a family of Cognac producers, was unable to continue the family business and decided to establish Germain-Robin in Northern California. He acquired an old still and, together with partner Ansley Coale, built a small facility to produce brandy. Over time, the operation has expanded and now produces various types of brandy, apple brandies, pear liqueurs, and grappas. One particular brandy, made from 100% Muscat grapes and aged in Limousin Oak, stands out for its unique aromatics and flavor profile. It has a light gold color with a luscious nose of burnt oranges, tangerine, and muscat, as well as hints of vanilla and overripe fruit. The palate offers a medium-full and oily texture, initially with a hint of sweetness and petrol notes, followed by subtle honey, clove, anise, and cinnamon flavors. The finish is medium-long and conveys the exceptional nose of the brandy.
