Hine H VSOP Cognac
Description
This youthful and fragrant Cognac is the main release from renowned producer Hine. The H by Hine VSOP Cognac is a blend of more than 15 different eaux-de-vie sourced from Grande and Petite Champagne, aged for a minimum of four years. The humid climate in the Hine cellars, situated near the River Charente, slows down the evaporation process, resulting in a smoother and more refined Cognac. The history of Hine Cognac begins in the 18th Century when a young man named Thomas Hine from Dorset came to Jarnac to work for a Cognac producer. He fell in love with the owner's daughter Françoise-Elisabeth and married into the family. With his new position as a son-in-law, Thomas was able to take on a senior role and used his financial expertise to make significant changes, expanding trade beyond France. In 1817, he officially changed the company's name to Thomas Hine & Co. Today, Hine focuses exclusively on the Fine Champagne growing regions and manages 115 hectares of land near the village of Bonneuil. The Ugni Blanc grapevines on the limestone-rich hills draw essential nutrients and water from the chalky soil, even in hot summers. Appearance: Brilliant amber. Aroma: Expressive yet subtle, with hints of iris, fresh apricot, acacia, and white pepper. Palate: Fruity, with a noticeable vanilla kick. The floral elements bring brightness and a refreshing edge to the finish.
