Fassbind Fine Williams (Poire) Eau-de-Vie

The Fassbind family has been breeding cherry trees and distilling cherry brandy since as early as 1395. However, the official Fassbind distillery in Urchwyzer was not established until 1846. Just a decade later, the distillery received a gold medal from Napoleon III at the World Exhibition in Paris, a significant achievement at the time. The pear brandy is made from fully mature Swiss Williams pears. Initially, these pears are manually sorted and crushed. Once the fermentation process is complete, the mash goes through double distillation. To enhance its aroma, the pear brandy is aged in stainless steel tanks for at least two years before being meticulously blended.
