Fassbind Vieille Vieux Kirsch
The Vieille Cerise is a new creation from the traditional Fassbind house. It is made using the finest cherries from Central Switzerland and the Schwarzbubenland region, which are then turned into brandy and aged in oak barrels for at least one and a half years. After this maturation period, a homemade bonificateur is added to the brandy, giving it a touch of sweetness and softness. The brandy is processed using the countercurrent distillation method, resulting in a mild and harmonious aroma with a subtle hint of almond. The taste combines the flavors of cherry, wood, and almond. The finish is described as elegant and fruity, with a medium length. This special cherry liqueur has won silver and gold awards at international competitions in 2009, 2010, and 2012, making it a pleasant surprise for those who already love Fassbind's cherry brandy. The full-bodied and noble character of this liqueur is attributed to both the traditional processing methods and the excellent Swiss raw materials used. The combination of these two factors is what contributes to the success of the oldest distillery in Switzerland.
