Humbel Vieille Prune Fruchtbrand
The Humbel Specialty Distillery is famous in the German-speaking region for distilling fruit brandies using locally sourced and traded herbs, fruits, and spices that adhere to biologically correct and Fair Trade standards. It was established by Max Humbel in 1918 as a side business to his farm and remains a family-owned enterprise. Recently, the distillery has expanded its traditional offerings. The plum brandy in question is made by distilling carefully selected plums and damsons, followed by aging in oak barrels. Legally speaking, this is classified as a liqueur rather than a fruit distillate. The aroma of the plum brandy is characterized by a strong plum scent coupled with a hint of spice. On the palate, it boasts distinct and fruity plum flavors, with a touch of pepper. The finish is long-lasting.
