Laird's Old Apple 7 Year Old Brandy

Lairds is one of the oldest distilleries in the United States, dating back to 1698. They use fully ripe apples and natural yeasts to create their product, which is then fermented, distilled in a pot, and aged in charred oak barrels for 7 and a half years. In terms of appearance, it has a clear and sediment-free quality, with a yellow hue similar to a cognac of comparable age. The color can be described as a rich straw gold. When initially smelled, there are hints of pepper and mint accompanied by dark fruit and a touch of cocoa. There is a slight smell of acetone and esters. The drink has a full-bodied sensation and a spicy kick on the tongue. As for taste, it exhibits flavors of caramel, baked toffee apple, vanilla, cardamom, and nutmeg. There are also lingering notes of tobacco and crystallized ginger. The finish is of medium length.
