Le Compte 5 Year Old Calvados

The Lecompte brand, created by Alexander Lecompte in 1923, started as a small business in producing fruit, wine, and brandy. In 1945, Pierre Le Compte, Alexander's son, took over the company and began distilling and making calvados in 1955. With almost a century of history, Le Compte Calvados is a type of apple brandy made in the Normandy region of France. The Lecompte distillery is located in the Notre Dame de Courson village, at the heart of the Pays D'Auge. The orchards there have been growing apple varieties for centuries. Calvados Lecompte 5 is known for its pure fruity taste, with a subtle woody flavor that complements the light and vibrant apple notes. Before being transferred to more mature "red barrels" to enhance its smooth flavors, this Calvados spends a few months in small fresh oak casks, giving it a delicate hint of vanilla. Le Compte's 5 Year Old Calvados is a refreshing and fruity drink with a balanced combination of apple, vanilla, roasted nuts, tobacco, and sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove.
