Wilder Schlehengeist
Sloes are dense, thorny shrubs that bear small stone fruits resembling cherries. These fruits are harvested in late autumn, a process that can be uncomfortable due to the shrub's thorns. However, the effort is worth it as the dark blue fruits can be used to create a delightful wild sloe spirit. This spirit is both mild and spicy, reminiscent of the flavor of sweet plums. It is best enjoyed when served chilled, making it a wonderful treat from the Lneburg Heath.
