Ziegler Schlehen Brand
Ziegler Sloe Gin is a high-quality gin made from sloes that are harvested by pickers. Harvesting the sloe fruit is a labor-intensive process as they grow on thorny bushes and are only collected after the first frost. The frost helps break down unwanted tannic acid in the sloes, resulting in a better flavor. Despite the low alcohol yield, the distillate is magnificent. This gin is delivered in a typical Ziegler distillate bottle with a capacity of 700 ml and an alcohol content of 43% Vol. The tasting notes describe it as aromatic with soft aromas of ripe sloes and a bitter-sweet taste accompanied by a strong marzipan flavor. It has a long and soft finish with warm accents. Ziegler Sloe Gin is best served at 18 C and does not need to be chilled. To make one bottle of Ziegler Sloe Gin, 25 kg of high-quality sloe fruit are required. This fine brandy is perfect as a digestif or as an addition to dessert. The Ziegler distillery, which was founded in 1865, is known for its high-quality distillates and traditional methods of production. They are dedicated to maintaining their craftsmanship and are one of the leading distilleries in Germany. The introduction of the Wild Cherry No. 1 fine brandy in the 1980s helped establish the distillery in the star gastronomy scene. Over the years, they have continued to innovate with barrel-aged spirits and their single malt whisky, AUREUM. Tradition is an important aspect of their work.
