The team at ABK6 has created something truly exceptional with their XO Renaissance Cognac. Their attention to detail and dedication to flavor and presentation is evident in every aspect of this product. The decanter design is both artistic and appealing, housing a complex and impressive Cognac. This XO has been aged for a minimum of 10 years in oak casks, resulting in a work of art. Its old gold amber color is just the beginning of its sensory experience. The nose is rich with woody notes, spice, liquorice, orange peel, and dried fig. The mouth reveals a tamed aromatic strength with hints of hazelnut, walnut, cedar wood, and candied fruits. Its great length is a testament to its quality. The nose presents apple slices, raisins, and a hint of apple pie. It is complex, perfumed, and spicy with floral notes and cinnamon. Toffee apple and mustard seed develop alongside each other. The palate is rich, fairly thick, and spicy, with flavors of apple, Bombay mix, home baking, and caraway. Adding a drop of water reveals wonderful ripe apricots. The finish is characterized by aromatic spices and fresh fruit, gradually giving way to soft, slightly drying oak. Overall, this VSOP Cognac is fantastic, fragrant, and spicy.
