Asbach Uralt 3 Year Old Brandy
Description
Asbach Uralt, one of Germany's most well-known brands, has been crafted with expertise and special attention to detail since 1892. It goes through a lengthy distillation process and is aged in small casks made of Limousin oak for at least 4 to 5 times longer than the legally required 6 months. This extended maturation creates a smooth taste and a balanced aroma, characterized by spicy notes, wood, and hints of cocoa. The palate experiences a fuller body with flavors of ripe grapes, spice, oak, and a warming sensation. The finish offers a pleasant combination of cocoa and tannins. Asbach Uralt Weinbrand 1.0L 38%. Hugo Asbach established his own spirits company in Rüdesheim am Rhein at the age of 24, on May 11, 1892. With only two stills, he began creating a drink that now has a global following under the name Asbach Uralt. The entry of Albert Sturm, a wine merchant, in 1905 led to the development of Asbach into a company with a unique history. Three years later, Hugo Asbach registered the brand Asbach Uralt with the Imperial Patent Office and introduced the term "Weinbrand" to the German language. Due to the Treaty of Versailles, which restricted the use of the term Cognac to French products from the Charente region, the German Wine Law included the term "brandy" as an independent word. Asbach Uralt is considered a classic. It is made from high-quality grapes from the French Charente region, undergoes double distillation, and is aged for several years in Limousin oak barrels, resulting in its topaz color and mild, sweet taste. The aroma is characterized by honey and floral notes, complemented by delicate woody nuances. On the palate, one can discern delicate hints of plums and nuts.
