Description

This barrel, named after King Arthur Pendragon, the legendary wielder of Excalibur, is a tribute to discovery. It tells the story of the power contained within a mythical asset, whether it is obtained from a stone or a cellar. Our founder's Armagnac from France forms the basis of our 50 Year blend, which can now be yours. This blend includes vintages from 1868, 1897, 1939, 1946, 1952, 1963, 1964, and 1970. It is made with 100% Armagnac finished in Islay Whisky casks. The nose of this blend offers hints of honey, an old room, a faint hint of smoke, and over time evolves to reveal various notes such as black tea, raisins, dates, orange, sandalwood, and tobacco leaf. The palate is juicy and creamy with flavors of caramel, apricots, dried fruits, baking spices, milk chocolate, cocoa, and earthy notes. There is a subtle touch of ginger that lingers on the tongue, accompanied by a lingering soft finish with oak spices, vanilla, honey, and some tannins.
