The Camus Maison has released their latest Cognac, the Extra Dark & Intense. This Cognac is made from the finest barrels of their Extra Cognac, which undergo a re-toasting process to enhance their aromatic quality. The idea for this Cognac came from Cyril Camus, who asked the Cellar Master, Patrick Leger, to select the best barrels for the re-toasting process. After selecting the eaux-de-vies and re-toasting the barrels, the Cognac is returned to the barrel to age. The resulting Cognac is spicy, fruity, and rich. It has a bright appearance with amber, topaz, and mahogany tints. The aroma is strong and robust, with notes of gingerbread and macadamia nuts.
