The Castarède family became nobles in 1818 and founded their distillery in 1832. Today, Florence Castarède is the sixth generation in charge of the family business. The Bas Armagnac comes from the western AOC of Armagnac in an area with predominantly silty soils. This region produces renowned eaux-de-vie that are light, fruity, and delicate. Considered the best in the appellation, their Armagnacs are highly regarded by experts. The distillation process used 60% ugni blanc and 40% Baco grapes. This particular expression is the youngest in their collection and is aged for a minimum of 3 years in French oak. It has a golden color and is easily approachable. Castarède VS is an excellent introduction for those interested in exploring the world of Armagnac. It has a delicate aroma of fresh plum and vanilla, with a hint of nuttiness.
