Description

Quarter Branch Apple Brandy was created through a collaboration between Catoctin Creek and Blue Bee Cidery in Richmond, Virginia. The owner of Blue Bee Cidery, Courtney Mailey, provided a vast array of apple wine samples, from which we carefully selected a blend of heritage apples including Old Winesap, Arkansas Black, Albemarle Pippin, Stayman, and a hint of Pink Lady. The fermented cider was distilled at Catoctin Creek and then aged in new Minnesota white oak barrels for two years, allowing the brandy to absorb the flavors from the wood while experiencing the varying temperatures of Virginia's seasons. The end result is a remarkable apple brandy that reflects the tastes enjoyed by our colonial ancestors. The brandy exhibits a vibrant topaz color and a smooth caramel aroma. Indulge in the rich toffee flavors followed by tantalizing hints of cocoa and tropical fruit, with a lingering warmth of clove and black pepper on the finish. Blue Bee Cider provided the base, while Catoctin Creek distilled and aged the liquid.
