Clés Des Ducs Napoleon Armagnac
Description
Clés des Ducs, also known as 'keys of dukes', has been producing its delicious and popular Armagnac since 1774 in Panjas in the Bas-Armagnac region. This particular bottle of Clés des Ducs Napoleon Armagnac, believed to be from the 1970s, has subtle and perfectly balanced aromas of dried fruits (walnut, hazelnut, almond, and prune), candied orange peel, spices, vanilla, pepper, roasted flavors, cacao, tobacco, and delicate wood. Unlike Cognac, which is aged in limousine oak barrels, Armagnac is aged in holm oak barrels native to the region. The high tannin content in these barrels gives Armagnac its distinct slightly bitter taste, and the natural dyes in the wood result in faster color development. Clés des Ducs Napoleon is a special offering from the traditional company, aged for eleven years in small holm oak barrels. The beautiful amber color and the bouquet of dried fruits, flowers, and nuts confirm its high-quality nature. On the palate, it reveals notes of vanilla, toffee, and a slightly sweet-tart taste. The long aftertaste boasts delicate spice notes, making it a brandy for discerning connoisseurs.
