Clés Des Ducs VSOP Armagnac
Description
Cles des Ducs is the top-ranking Armagnac in France and globally. Its history reflects the noble and elegant heritage of the Armagnac region, where the spirit of d'Artagnan and the Musketeers enrich the land with adventure. Cles des Ducs follows a traditional production method dating back to the 15th century and is recognized as the first eau-de-vie. Distilled in Panjas at the Bordeneuve Cellars, this VSOP Armagnac is cask-aged for at least four years, presenting a bouquet of fresh white fruits with hints of vanilla and light woodiness. It is supple and well-rounded, and it comes in a distinctive hammered bottle. Cles des Ducs, which means "The Keys of the Dukes," creates an Armagnac that lives up to its royal and important name. The nose offers ripe plum and sugared almond aromas, with underlying vanilla notes. The palate reveals drying dark chocolate and Christmas spice, along with juicy apricot, apples, and pear. The finish is sweet with a slight earthiness. The spirits acquire a beautiful amber color from the natural dyes in the wood after a short period of aging. The high tannin content gives young Armagnacs a pleasantly bitter taste. Clés des Ducs produces the highest quality Armagnacs in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, the best among the three Armagnac regions. Their V.S.O.P. blend, aged between four to twelve years in 400-liter barrels made of premium oak wood, is particularly renowned for its fine and floral bouquet and slightly astringent taste. It is an exceptional VSOP that offers both quality and value.
