Description

A lively 12-year-old Bas Armagnac blended and bottled by Darroze as part of their Grands Assemblages range. The nose reveals hints of liquorice and cinnamon, which become more pronounced after a couple of minutes. The aroma is rich and zesty, reminiscent of fruit cake, candied fruit, sultanas, delicate spice, and a hint of citrus. The palate initially offers a dry and fragrant experience, with delicate floral notes that gradually give way to toffee sweetness and a darker, coffee and burnt sugar background. The finish is lengthy, with a combination of sweet grapes and sharp apple that fades into lingering spice. This Armagnac is complex and presents a variety of well-aged and youthful flavors. After spending 10 years in oak barrels, the Armagnac begins to develop aging aromas. The remaining fruit notes are accompanied by soft spice aromas, such as liquorice and cinnamon. Although still quite intense, this eau de vie becomes more intricate after a few minutes of breathing in the glass.
