The Deau Black Cognac is an Extra quality Cognac made exclusively from eaux-de-vie from the finest crus, the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. It is named Deau Black because the Cellar Master uses black glasses during blind tasting sessions to remove any bias based on the color of the liquid. The blend includes eaux-de-vie aged for at least 7 years. The unique aging process involves storing the young eaux-de-vie in new oak barrels before transferring them to older barrels for a smoky, woody flavor. The Deau Black decanter is visually stunning with an asymmetrical bottle, a silver stopper, and key. It has deep golden hues and a floral nose with notes of iris, violet, honeysuckle, and orange blossom. On the palate, it reveals dried apricot, tropical fruit, smooth herbal notes, and a hint of ginger. It finishes with a subtle, woody taste.
