Description

Armagnac distillation occurs during the winter months and Delord is one of the few distilleries that uses both continuous distillation, which is typical for Armagnac, and double distillation. The climate in the region is gentle and humid, with sunny autumns, and the soil is composed of siliceous clay that lacks lime, resulting in Bas Armagnacs that have a light and fragrant quality with delicate flavors. The grape varieties used are Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Baco. The Armagnac Delord Brothers, established in 1893 by Prosper Delord and still owned by the fourth generation of the family, produces Armagnac in the Bas-Armagnac region, specifically in Lannepax. The production is small, with less than 30 liters of eau-de-vie produced per hour using old alambic stills. The Armagnac is matured for several years in old oak barrels. The aroma of the Armagnac includes scents of rose, vanilla, and candied orange. The flavor profile offers subtle hints of oak with citrus and candied orange, and a long-lasting finish.
