Description

The Jörg Geiger BP-Pear in Port Wine Style is a unique aperitif made from a rare type of pear. To create it, the master distiller uses two types of pears, Gelbmöstler and Speckbirne, which may not be familiar to most people. The process starts with harvesting the pears and allowing them to "sweat" to develop their intense flavor. The pear juice obtained through gentle pressing is then naturally fermented until the perfect moment when fermentation is stopped by adding a high-proof pear brandy. Next, the BP-Pear in Port Wine Style is aged for 18 months in new acacia wood barrels and Sauternes cask barrels. This maturation process results in a strongly fruity aroma, enhanced by the presence of Sauternes sweet wine that was previously in the barrel. The aperitif is then bottled at 18% Alcohol By Volume (ABV) in an exclusive 700 ml bottle, which is presented in a high-quality gift box. This partially fermented pear wine, mixed with pear brandy and aged in a Sauternes barrel, is an exceptional choice for an aperitif. It also pairs well with spicy cheese and is enjoyed by customers alongside duck and goose liver. Additionally, it complements sweet desserts wonderfully.
