Founded in 1877 by two British brothers-in-law, Alexander Williams and Arthur Humbert, Willams & Humbert signature brands include Dry Sack Sherry, Gran Duque De Alba Brandy, and Dos Maderas Rum. The company has expanded over time and now has more than 1,200 acres of vineyards in Jerez and the largest bodega in Europe. Gran Duque D'Alba brandy was first introduced in 1945 and is named after the Great Duke of Alba, Fernando Álvarez de Toledo y Pimentel. The brand is known for its exceptional brandies made in the traditional Solera method. The aroma of Gran Duque d'Alba Solera Gran Reserva is pleasant with a combination of raisins, peaches, plums, and a hint of fresh herbs. The taste is light-bodied with a slightly smoky and leathery flavor. It also has wine esters, balsamic notes, underlying roasted aromas, and a touch of vanilla.
