Hennessy VSOP Privilege Cognac
Description
Hennessy, established in 1765, is committed to crafting the finest Cognacs and their passion drives them to constantly strive for excellence. The Hennessy Cognac is created according to strict standards set by the Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and passed down through generations. However, when it comes to enjoying Cognac, they have never followed any rules. The goal of the Hennessy master blenders has always been to create a complete and harmonious blend, exemplifying a perfectly balanced cognac, in order to honor the legacy of the original V.S.O.P specially made for George IV. Hennessy VSOP Privilège was named after a request made by King George IV for a "Very Special Old Pale" cognac. The initial batch, made in 1818, was a blend of over 60 eaux-de-vie aged exclusively in French oak. The brand was originally founded by Richard Hennessy, an Irish immigrant. The nose of this cognac releases mature notes, with a fragrance reminiscent of fresh fruit and a smoothness that emphasizes its harmony. On the palate, the full-bodied sensation is enhanced by flavors of succulent fruits, vanilla, spices, and mild tobacco derived from the younger eaux-de-vie. The finish is of medium length, with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, candied fruit, cloves, ginger, and oak.
