Hennessy XO Cognac
Description
Hennessy has been dedicated to creating the finest Cognacs since its establishment in 1765. The passion to never stop and never settle has guided their craftsmanship. Hennessy Cognac adheres to strict standards set by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the Master Blender, from generation to generation. While they have followed traditional methods for crafting Cognac, there are no rules when it comes to enjoying it. The renowned Hennessy X.O was created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for his close circle of friends, making it the first Extra Old Cognac and setting a new category. The iconic shape of the Hennessy X.O decanter was designed by Gérald de Geoffre in 1947, inspired by the pyramid-like forms of grape bunches. Its intense amber color reflects its strength, and its flavors of candied fruit and lightly spicy aroma create a harmonious profile. Tasting the Hennessy X.O reveals a smooth and powerful sensation with hints of cocoa and warm fruitiness. The long finish showcases the complexity and aging process of the cognac. The nose is rich in dried fruit aromas, evolving into notes of chocolate, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom. On the palate, the XO confirms the scented aromas of dried fruit and chocolate, balanced with the strength of peppery and woody undertones. The finish leaves a sweet taste of cinnamon and vanilla, enveloping the senses. The fruity notes of peach, pear, and plum, combined with spicy pepper, chocolate, and oak, further enhance the complexity of the cognac, leading to a long finish with hints of vanilla and cinnamon.
