Cognac with an age statement is not very common, but we are always intrigued when we come across a bottle that proudly displays one. This particular bottling from Hine, available in Travel Retail, is an 8 year old Grande Champagne Cognac. It is crafted using eaux-de-vie aged in their cellars in Jarnac and also in a cellar in Britain. The color of the Cognac is a rich gold with hints of amber. The aroma is fruity and slightly chocolatey. When tasted, it resembles hot chocolate with notes of cinnamon, cedar wood, grapefruit, and plums. The finish is long-lasting.
