Janneau VS Armagnac
Description
Today, Janneau is not only one of the oldest and most prestigious brands of Armagnac, but also a global leader, available in 80 countries. The key to the exceptional quality of Janneau Armagnacs lies in its distillery and cellars located in Condom, a historic city in the heart of the Armagnac region. Janneau's ownership of its own distillery allows for complete control over the character and excellence of its Armagnac. Armagnac is produced by distilling the white wines of the region, which are made from Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanc, and Baco grape varieties. Unlike many other large producers in the area, Janneau is not involved in vineyard ownership or winemaking. This grants them the freedom to select the finest wines from any of Armagnac's three sub-regions, with a preference for the superior Bas Armagnac and Ténarèze. The unique aspect of Janneau Armagnac is the combination of both single and double distillation methods, which is exclusive to the House of Janneau. The spirits are individually aged in oak barrels for a minimum of five years, allowing them to develop their own distinct characteristics. These spirits are then expertly blended by their master blender, resulting in a harmonious combination. Janneau VS Armagnac displays a vibrant amber color. The nose offers captivating scents of dried lilac, honey, figs, and toasted nuts, leading to a lively and tangy initial taste. The medium-to-full-bodied palate reveals flavors of white chocolate and caramel. The finish is long, with notes of honeyed golden raisin, toasted elements, and a hint of spice.
