Johanneshof Cellars has been aging its Edelbrand grape brandy in underground cellars for 24 years. It is made from 100% Marlborough grapes and aged in small Limousine oak casks. The name "Edelbrand" translates to noble brandy in German, and it is named after one of the owners, Edel. The brandy is blended using the Solera method, where barrels are continuously topped up with spirit from the next oldest barrel to guarantee consistency in age and composition. After maturation, the brandy is bottled and sealed by hand.
